The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, met, at the UN headquarters in New York, with the UN Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki-moon and the leader of the Turkish Cypriot community, Mr Mustafa Akinci. UN Secretary-General said the meeting was he had a productive. The three parts discussed the state of play in the ongoing negotiations to reach a comprehensive settlement in Cyprus.

Ban Ki-Moon said that the period ahead will be crucial for Cyprus. "Time is of the essence. The United Nations and I, will do our utmost to promote a successful outcome" he said.

President Anastasiades expressed my full satisfaction with the result of the meeting, since the opportunity was provided to raise not only the significant convergences but also the divergences that exist on important chapters.
