An hours-long police operation took place on Saturday 22 February at the Sydney Olympic Park where the under 18 Good Life/Lost City 2020 Festival was being held.

Searches conducted led to two teens being charged with alleged drug supply: a 14-year-old Mt Druitt girl who was charged after she was allegedly found with 31 MDMA capsules and a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly located with 75 MDMA capsules. He also faces other charges including possess knife in a public place.

A 15-year-old boy was also charged with possess prohibited drug and breach of bail.

According to the police media release, 14 festival attendees will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act after they were found with prohibited drugs, while 27 people were ejected from the premises for intoxication, drug-related matters and anti-social behaviour.

The operation was conducted between 3.30pm and 10pm on Saturday at the festival grounds which attracted more than 12,000 revellers.

Meanwhile, in a separate NSW police statement it is clarified that drug and alcohol testing at the festival was conducted by a private contractor and not by officers.

Good Life/Lost City is open to ticket holders aged 13-17 and runs as a drug and alcohol free event.

This is not the first time the festival has made headlines.

Last year, police came under fire for the strip-searches conducted on several young people at the festival.

During the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) hearings that followed, the potential unlawfulness of police conducting strip-searches on minors was debated.
