The eco-friendly tiny Greek island that welcomes Syrian refugees

The Greek island of Tilos is the first 'eco-friendly' island in the Mediterranean Sea as it was recently got awarded by the European Commission. Also, it is well-known as the island with the 'big heart' as it accepted and embraced refugees families from the civil war torn Syria. Tilos Island Mayor Maria Kamma spoke to SBS Radio's Greek Program.

Syrian refugees are being welcomed on this small Greek island where goats outnumber people. a tiny island in the Aegean Sea is offering a glimmer of hope and possibly a lesson for how the rest of Greece – and indeed the whole of Europe – could tackle the continent’s refugee crisis.
