Ranked third in its Trending Destinations’ list is Rhodes followed closely at no.10 by Santorini.

The largest of the Dodecanese islands ranks high thanks to its diverse offerings. As the authors of the list put it “Whether your interests are beaches, bars or ancient sites, Rhodes offers an abundance of all three.”

The Trending Destinations category is compiled by places that have experienced the greatest year-over-year growth in reviews and ratings on Tripadvisor.

A Greek island also features in the top 10 of the awards’ Popular Destinations category: Crete, sitting at no.5
The annual rankings are based on traveler reviews and ratings.

While travel during 2021 was still greatly impacted by the pandemic for people in Australia, 2022 is looking more promising with international borders reopened and 72% of Australians stating in a recent Tripadvisor survey likely to travel for leisure during the year.
