Three homes have been lost, and a major tourist attraction and business in southwest Tasmania damaged amid reports of looting as the state battles ongoing bushfires.

The Tasmania Fire Service maintained 12 emergency warnings for two blazes, while numerous others continued to burn uncontrolled, blanketing much of the island in thick smoke.
