Tony Attwood endorsing CBD method by Haris Karnezi

Dr. Tony Attwood, one of the world's leading Autism specialists, and Dr Haris Karnezi , creator of Cognitive Behavioral Drama, collaborated in Australia to teach members of his team in Brisbane this unique method of training children in the autism spectrum, through theatrical plays and interactive games. From January 2019 Dr Attwood will apply this method at his clinic.

 For decades, Dr Tony Attwood has shed light on Autism research, having written a series of books about Asperger's syndrome for individuals, experts and parents.  He views Autism as a different state of mind, that might even be the next stage of human evolution.

Born in Britain, Dr. Tony Attwood moved to Australia and in 1992 he opened his internationally renowned clinic in Brisbane. He invited there Dr Haris Karnezis, creator of Cognitive Behavioral Drama, a unique method that uses theatrical play in order to teach children with autism from 4 to 18 years of age essential knowledge and communication tools.

During her stay in Brisbane, Dr. Karnezi presented her interactive method to Minds and Hearts clinicians. Experts have had to take on the role of children, run on the floor, look for solutions to problems, and work together to defeat the "bad".  Dr Tony Attwood was actively involved and was enthusiastic about the CBD method because he had the opportunity to experience the process from a child’s point of view.

What made a great impression on Dr. Tony Attwood was that Cognitive Behavioral Drama combines deep scientific knowledge with theatrical play, in a very engaging way. Children rejoice with their participation and at the same time they are unaware of how this method is actually an educational tool.

According to Dr Tony Attwood CBD method created by Dr Harris Karnezi has advantages for everyone. Children in the autism spectrum learn, experts have the opportunity to apply a more effective game-based method  and parents are happy with the knowledge their children gain. It’ s a win - win for everyone he states.  For all these reasons, Dr Tony Attwood from January 2019 will set up two teams that will apply Dr. Karnezis CBD method to Australia.

Dr Haris Karnezi  lives and has her workshop in Athens Greece. In 2009 she was awarded Woman Scientist of the year.
