WA police release video of 8-year-old's rescue from burning house

The story had thankfully a happy ending with young boy Liam having completely recovered - Meanwhile, authorities laid charges against an 18-year-old resident of South Hedland, where the incident took place late last month.

The body camera footage captures critical moments during the rescue operation at the South Hedland home in WA on Friday 27 March.

“There’s a child inside", the frantic voice of an officer is heard at the same time a window explodes due to the high temperatures.

Less than two minutes later, a policeman is seen carrying 8-year-old Liam who was stuck in the house, away from the flames.

Liam was flewn by  Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia to Perth Children's Hospital and has since fully recovered.
