The 2019 federal budget allocates $5.9 billion over two years for the Commonwealth Home Support Program, or C-H-S-P, from 2020-21.
More than $720 millionhas been allocated over the next five years for new measures aimed at improving the quality of aged care facilities.
Nearly half of that money is to be spent before the end of this financial year.
The measures include a once-only 320 million-dollar increase to the basic subsidy for residential aged care recipients.
An additional ten thousand home care packages will be funded by $282 million over five years, while $38.4 million over the same period has been pledged to help strengthen aged care regulation.
