Worker killed, another critical, in wall collapses as wild winds hit Sydney

A man has died and another is in a critical condition after brick walls collapsed on them in separate incidents at building sites in Sydney's north-west on Wednesday morning.

Police said a 30-year-old man was trapped when a wall, which was under construction, was blown over in the wind in Carlingford about 10:00am.

The man reportedly went into cardiac arrest, however paramedics were unable to save him.

Another tradesman was critically injured when a double brick wall under construction fell on him at a building site in Kellyville.

The 19-year-old was pulled unconscious by co-workers from a pile of rubble shortly before 10am.
