After a teleconference, the foreign ministers of Greece, Cyprus, France, Egypt and United Arab Emirates have sent a strict message to Turkey regarding its activities in Eastern Mediterranean and its involvement in the Libya conflict.

The main agenda in the teleconference was to discuss the situation in the eastern Mediterranean, as well as threats to the stability of the surrounding area.

The 5 countries condemned the illegal activities Turkey has been conducting in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus, breaching Greek air space, as well as weaponizing refugees to promote its agenda. It's the first time the United Arab Emirates has participated in this cooperation by the other four countries: Greece, Cyprus, Egypt and France.

According to Anadolu newsagency, the joint declaration caused the reaction of Turkey's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who among other things said that Turkey would continue to defend its interests and rights in the Aegean and Cyprus.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides said that the 5 nations had agreed on how to address the situation.

''Each one of the countries has certain advantages, either on its own or through its relations with other countries which will be used'' said Mr Christodoulides.
