Nikki Nouveau is the stage name of Androniki Taussani. For almost ten years, the Melbourne- based vocalist has been performing a celebrated Edith Piaf tribute at an iconic jazz club where she established herself as a premier act of French chanson.

Nikki’s fascination with French music begun during her high school years in Sydney, where she was born and grew up. It was during these formative years she started performing works of the iconic French singer Edith Piaf.

“The first song I performed in high school was La Vie en rose” she said speaking to SBS Greek.

She was also fascinated by Edith Piaf’s life, a fascination she maintains to this day.

Nikki Nouveau is currently preparing a new production centered on the legendary Marlene Dietrich, slated for release in April 2026 at the Paris Cat Jazz Club.

Apart from her love for music, she also loves languages. She speaks French, Greek and German. Her dedication to learning the German language took her to Berlin where she spent a month learning and practising the language of Marlene Dietrich.

In recent years, Nikki has returned to her roots, presenting her Greek repertoire at community events and tavernas across Melbourne. Her experience, innate musicality and mellifluous voice allow her to navigate a number of genres including, entehno, rebetiko, laika and Neo Kyma (New Wave), with technical skill and emotional depth.

While Nikki maintains a career as an accountant, her dedication to the performing arts remains her primary creative outlet.

“I’d like to have more music in my life and less numbers” she says with a smile.
