સમગ્ર ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયાના વિવિધ સુપર માર્કેટ્સમાં વેચાતા લગભગ એક ડઝન જેટલા ફ્રોઝન શાકભાજી લિસ્ટેરિયા (Listeria) બેક્ટેરિયાના વધતા જતા ભયના કારણે પરત ખેંચવામાં આવ્યા છે.
આ અંગે ફૂડ સ્ટાન્ડર્ડ ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા ન્યૂઝીલેન્ડે જણાવ્યું હતું કે સાવચેતીના ભાગરૂપે શાકભાજી પરત ખેંચાઇ રહ્યા છે. જેમાં Woolworths, Aldi, IGA અને કેટલાક અન્ય નાના સ્ટોર્સનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
એજન્સીએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે લોકોએ કાચા તથા ફ્રોઝન શાકભાજી ઉપયોગમાં લેતા સમયે તેની ભય અંગે સાવચેત રહેવાની જરૂર છે.
લિસ્ટેરિયા (Listeria) બેક્ટેરિયા ગર્ભવતી મહિલાઓ તથા તેમના નવજાત બાળકો ઉપરાંત, વૃદ્ધો અને ઓછી રોગપ્રતિકારક શક્તિ ધરાવતા લોકોનો સૌથી વધારે અસર કરે છે.
