India's Bharat Football Club registered a resounding victory over Pakistan's Shaheens in a 'Dosti Cup' played at Avalon airport oval, in Werribee in Melbourne, organized as part of Independence Day celebrations for both countries.
The 'Dosti Cup' match was played in front of nearly 200 supporters cheering for their respective countries but it was the Bharat club team that had the winning streak, becoming the first Indian team to win the cup after three previous attempts by AFL India.
The Indian team got off to a good start and scored the first goal of the match. They continued their extraordinary performance throughout the first and the second quarter with a comfortable lead against their rivals.

In the third and the fourth quarter, Shaheens tried hard to recover from the huge lead put by Indian team but it was too late to make a comeback.
With the collective efforts of all players, the Indian team scored 12 goals in a 50 point victory.

For India, Captain Yaseer Hussain was the top scorer with 3 goals while Harka Calais, Chaitan Sarikonda scored 2 goals each. Gurnaz Khatra, Ashish Sharma, and Darius Fernandes made one goal each.
Haseeb Qureshi was the only player for Shaheens to kick the ball successfully on three separate occasions which gave them 18 points.

For their all-around performance, number 9 on their back, India's Sagar Ashoka, and Pakistan's Haseeb Qureshi were named best players of the match.
