Maharaja Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji of Nawanagar- Gujarat, made home for about 1000 Polish children during World War II, where they lived from 1942-46 in total freedom and dignity - a memory they still carry in their hearts. This is the story of those survivors of Balachadi.

The First Indo-Polish bilateral co-production film A Little Poland in India, is a rare glimpse into the lives of few of these former Polish residents of Balachadi. Settled now in Warsaw (Poland), these aged survivors relate unique heart-warming stories of their “home” in Jamnagar & Balachadi under the umbrella of Bapu’s (father)- as they fondly called Jam Saheb, love and compassionate protection where they spent precious four years (1942-46) of their childhood that changed their lives forever – memories of which still brings smile on their wrinkled faces and shine in their tired eyes.
