Schedule for T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia revealed

The women's T20 World cup will start from 21 February 2020 and the men's event will be held later in the year from 8 October to 15 November 2020.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced men's and women's T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in Australia in 2020. For the first time, ICC has decided to organise men's and women's T20 World Cup as standalone events in the same year and in the same nation.

The top 16 men's teams will contest 45 matches from 18 October to 15 November 2020 while the top 10 women's teams will play 23 matches from 21 February to 8 March 2020.

The finals of both the tournaments will be hosted by the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

According to the ICC, "The opening for the women's T20 World Cup will be held at Sydney Showground Stadium featuring hosts Australia taking on India and Australian men's team will play against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the first Super 12 match of the tournament on 24 October 2020.

Indian men's cricket team will face South Africa at Perth Stadium on Saturday 24 October 2020 while current world champions West Indies will start their campaign against New Zealand on Sunday 25 October at the MCG.

Group 1:

Pakistan, Australia, West Indies, New Zealand, First Round Group A team 1, First Round Group B team 2

Group 2:

India, England, South Africa, Afghanistan, First Round Group B team 1, First Round Group A team 2.

Qualifying rounds will start from 18th October 2020.
