Australia is currently enforcing its strictest student visa regulations in roughly two decades, resulting in a record 32.5% offshore refusal rate for international university students in February 2026. Applicants from South Asian countries are particularly affected, experiencing unprecedented rejection rates such as 65% for Nepal, 51% for Bangladesh, and 40% for India
