The humble paper coffee cup is part of a campaign to raise awareness of the thousands of people who remain missing long-term in Australia. Families traumatized by the disappearance of loved ones hope it will yield new leads.

This year the theme for National missing Persons week (4-10 August, 2019) is  ‘Individuals Not Statistics’.

In Australia, while most people reported missing are found quickly, some 3,000 remain missing long-term.

This campaign is a modern take on a successful 1980s practises of printing missing persons' information on milk cartons in the United States.
