In the 4.3 billion dollar Australian cosmetics market, there's still one big opportunity for growth. Men are roughly 50 per cent of the population but make-up is still overwhelmingly marketed towards women


Highlights

  • Global demand for cosmetics has risen 30 per cent in the pandemic, according to a 2021 report by U-S consultancy firm McKinsey.
  • Analysts say the growth is driven in part by  Zoom calls, which are forcing more people to spend more time looking at their faces.
  • Men are roughly 50 per cent of the Australian population but make-up is still overwhelmingly marketed towards women.
