A story about drought in rural Gujarat by an author with no formal education led to an award wining novel. It documents "chhappaniyo dukal" that occurred in the year 1956 of Gujarati calender. A film based on this novel has also won numerous accolades. Amit Mehta talks about "Manvi ni Bhavai" .
