With Australia's vaccination rate still rising, the conversation is moving towards what's ahead. SBS World News spoke to two of the country's leading epidemiologists to find out how, and when, the pandemic might end.


Highlights

  • According to Infectious Diseases experts, Endemic is when a disease is in the community, but only spreading at a low level
  • If the vaccine rollout continues at its current pace, Australia should have 70 per cent of the eligible population fully vaccinated by the end of October 31st.
  • It's expected to reach 80 per cent two-and-a-half weeks later, on November 17th.
