આઠ વર્ષ બાદ વર્લ્ડ કપ જીતવાની આશા સાથે ભારતીય ટીમ ઇંગ્લેન્ડ જવા રવાના, 5મી જૂને સાઉથ આફ્રિકા સામે પ્રથમ મેચ રમશે.

Skipper Virat Kohli's and his team have left for England to participate in the ICC World Cup 2019 which begins on May 22nd.

Having been in great form in the limited over cricket, Team India is touted as one of the favorites to clinch the biggest cricketing tournament in the world, starting from May 30.

Before flying to England, Captain Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri addressed the media in Mumbai.
"It would be the most challenging World Cup of all the three because of the format and looking at the strength of all the sides as well," Virat Kohli said.

As a front line batsman, he has represented India in two World Cups so far: 2011 and 2015. This time he is captaining the team that has the expectations of 1.3 billion people who wants to bring the World Cup trophy back home after eight years.

"The focus will be to play the best cricket we can play. If we do that, we will be on the right side of the result every time," he added.

The 12th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup gets underway on May 30th with South Africa taking on host country England.

Team India will begin their campaign with their first game against South Africa on June 5th.

They will take on Australia on June 9th, before the high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan. 

That much-anticipated match is scheduled on June 16 in Manchester.
