Two Primary School students have reported a sexual attack on them to the Police.

The girls told Police that they were going to the toilet when a man who was lurking within school grounds, grabbed one of the girls and pushed himself against her, 3AW Radio reported.

This incident occurred at the Laburnum Primary School in Blackburn on Monday around 11.30am.

The 9-year-old school girl accompanied by a friend broke free from the man’s clutches and was able to run away. They went back to their classroom and informed their teachers.

Detective Acting Sergeant Rosemary Eden, of the Box Hill sexual offences and child abuse investigation team, told the radio station that police were investigating an incident involving a man who had exposed himself to two school girls but would not go into any further detail.

"The investigation is ongoing," she told The Age.

She said police were searching for a man of Asian appearance wearing a dark, long-sleeved top with dark, tracksuit pants and white adidas-branded runners.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
