Gibbar Singh is being hailed the most honest cabbie of Brisbane. He has promptly returned a packet of $14000 left under the front passenger seat of his taxi by an elderly passenger. Speaking to Channel 7 Singh said that it must have taken his passenger a lot of hard work to collect that money, he said the amount was like winning a lotto!
Himself a heart patient Singh has undergone six heart operations but despite the doctors telling him he would ot be able to walk he is up and about driving a taxi with no second thought of pocketing the amount of $14000 which would roughly equal to 700 rides for him.
Well, for his absolute honesty and humanity Mr Singh was given a box of chocolates as a thank you. Sweeter awards surely await him from destiny.
Many an Indian Taxi Driver has displayed a high virtue of honesty in the past as well. In 2013 Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon found and returned a bag containing $600,000 in cash and casino chips. He returned these to the Crown Casino in Melbourne.
