Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man in relation to a series of Gumtree scams.
Police received complaints about a man who calls himself John Antulov who contacts victims who have advertised electronic devices for sale on the website.
The 36-year-old then meets the victims and produces a screen shot of a false internet transfer showing the money has been paid to the seller’s account.
Antulov takes the goods and leaves the property before the victims realise that they have been scammed.
Detectives from Banyule Crime Investigation Unit are investigating this matter and have shared that at least three such incidents have been reported in Victoria.
It’s also believed the scam has been performed interstate.
Police have released an image of Antulov in the hope someone can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to submit confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
