T20 superstar Yuvraj Singh is injured.
The left-handed batsman was seen in visible pain during India vs Australia on last Sunday after he twisted his ankle and had to be attended by the physio on the ground.
Indian Media is reporting that Yuvraj Singh had a MRI scan after the game and is currently being treated for his ankle.
While the medical staff of the Indian Cricket Team is confident that he should be fit to play the semi-finals against West Indies on Thursday, the team management is preparing a contingency plan to deal with Yuvi’s absence.
Incase Yuvraj Singh is not fit enough to play the next game, Manish Pandey or Ajinkya Rahane are likely to replace him.
Manish Pandey, who played the final ODI in Sydney in the bilateral series against Australia has been named as a cover while Ajinkya Rahane has been on the bench in this tournament so far.
In a post-match conference after India won against Australia, Indian Captain MS Dhoni has conveyed his preparedness to change the playing XI if the conditions demand.
"I don't know whether we should make changes but it is possible, depending on the wicket. We have to see Yuvraj's injury as well. We would definitely like to have a replacement ready if the physio says his injury is bad," he said.
