Body of an Indian man found by divers

On Thursday the police divers pulled out the body of a 21-year-old man from Queanbeyan at North Wollongong beach in New South Wales.

On Thursday, at North Wollongong beach in New South Wales police divers made a grim discovery of a missing Indian swimmer.

Around 2pm, the police divers pulled out the body of a 21-year-old man from Queanbeyan.

Inspector Mark Walker from Wollongong Local Area Command told Illawarra Mercury – “the alarm was raised by witnesses who noticed the swimmer struggling in the water before disappearing.”

Port Kembla Water police said that the man was first reported in danger around 7:20pm on Wednesday but the search was suspended      .

“It appears he’s got into difficulties in a gutter that’s formed there, and pretty quickly after he’s gone under water the witnesses haven’t seen him again, so they haven’t been in a position to even render assistance,” Walker told Illawarra Mercury.

Inspector Walker also said some of the belongings and ID of the man were found later on the sand.

The police are yet to notify their relatives in India were yet to be notified.
