Two children in separate incidents were pricked by hidden syringes in a supermarket in Melbourne.

Police are investigating these incidents involving children being pricked by a hidden syringe needle in a Broadmeadows supermarket on 17 July.

The first incident happened at 1.30pm where it appears a child was pricked by a syringe which was hidden under a rail.

A second similar incident involving another child took place about an hour later which led to the discovery of the syringe by the child’s mother.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the vicinity of the deli section of the Pascoe Vale Road supermarket on Monday to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
