Alright, Hardik Pandya didn’t have a great start to his international career. With 11 wides and 19 runs in his first over during the first T20 game against Australia in Adelaide, Hardik Pandya had a pretty rough start.
But he still managed to grab two wickets in the match which India won by claiming all Australian wickets.
But his celebration of taking Australian cricketer Chris Lynn’s wicket hasn’t gone down well with the ICC.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) reprimanded Hardik Pandya for his send-off to Australia’s Chris Lynn, during the first Twenty20 International on Tuesday.
According to Cricket Australia, the Indian cricketer was reprimanded for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the first T20I. Pandya was sanctioned over the clause which reads, “Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an International Match”.
During the 15th over, Lynn had dispatched Pandya for a straight six. It was on the last ball of that over when Lynn hit a wide delivery that was caught by Yuvraj Singh. Pandya, naturally, seemed excited.
The on-field umpires Simon Fry and John Ward levelled the charge against Pandya and ICC match referee Jeff Crowe imposed the sanction.
