Harvard-educated Yukti Chaudhary has won the recently held Panchayat polls from Haryana’s Fatehabad.

27-year-old old Yukti has done her graduation in History (Honours) from St. Stephens College, Delhi University. She completed her LLB from Delhi University before going to the Harvard Law School to pursue LLM in International Human Rights. She is the Alumna of Harvard University but returned to India to ‘to undertake initiatives that can have positive impact on the society.’

She is particularly interested in improving women’s education and health.

Yukti’s political background

Yukti’s grand-father Dr Hari Singh was a Congress MP from Rajasthan. Her husband’s grand-father Mani Ram Godhara too has served as a former Home Minister of Haryana.

She is now competing for the post of Chairperson of the Zila Parishad. “I am ready to accept the challenge,” Yukti was quoted in the local papers.

Given a chance, Yukti would like to work on the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ Initiative.
