Indian Australians welcome the new Consul General of Sydney

Federation of Indian Associations of NSW (FIAN) hosted a welcome reception for the new Consul General of India in Sydney, Mr. B Vanlalvawna and visiting ministerial delegation from Uttar Pradesh

Consul General of India in Sydney, Mr B. Vanlalvawna attended this event on 1st April with his wife, Dr Rosy Vanlalvawna.

Mr B.Vanlalvawna assumed charge as Consul General of India in Sydney on 19 February 2016. He was educated at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.

He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1998 and served in Indian Missions/Post in Tokyo, Shanghai, Brussels and Cairo. His wife, Dr Rosy Vanlalvawna is a medical doctor and a writer. She is a graduate from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi.

The function also welcomed a delegation from Indian state of Uttar Pradesh which included senior ministers, Mr Azam Khan, Mr Raghuraj Pratap Singh, Mr Om Prakash Singh, Prof Abhishek Mishra, Mrs Arun Kumari and 10 members of UP Parliament.

Dr Yadu Singh, President of Federation of Indian Associations of NSW, in his welcome address spoke of the multicultural fabric of the nation and also assured the new Consul General of community support during his stay in Australia.
