This month the Indian community is being urged to take action to protect themselves from stroke by taking part in Australia’s Biggest Blood Pressure Check. The Stroke Foundation is delivering free health checks throughout April, at all Priceline pharmacies.

During the month of April, there will be free public events across the country to raise awareness of the dangerous link between high blood pressure and stroke.  Around the country there are more than four million people living with high blood pressure, and many wouldn’t even know it. Australia’s Biggest Blood Pressure Check is all about helping people learn about what they can do to avoid a potentially devastating stroke.

Stroke Foundation Chief Executive Officer Sharon McGowan said it was easy for the community to get involved.  “Australia’s Biggest Blood Pressure Check is all about getting people to take five minutes out of their day for a quick, free and potentially lifesaving health check,” Ms McGowan said.
