In 1939, a young British stockbroker, Nicholas Winton, created history.
On the eve of World War II, he did something truly incredible and remarkable.
Winton risked his life to successfully save 669, mostly Jewish, children from Czechoslovakia during The Holocaust.
He ensured their safe passage to Britain and like a true hero never spoke of it again.
Fifty years later, his wife found a scrapbook in the attic of their home that contained the names, pictures and documents of the children that he saved.
Sir Nicholas Winton was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 and also received the Czech Order of the White Lion in 2014.
Sir Winton died on July 1, 2015, aged 106.
He was dubbed the “British Schindler” by the press.
Sir Winton appeared on a UK BBC television programme called That’s Life! (जीना इसी का नाम है) in 1988.
He was invited as a member of the audience.
Sir Winston was unaware that the people sitting around him were only alive because of his bravery and selflessness.
