Indian billionaire couple, Pankaj and Radhika Oswal have had a minor court win.
The Australian Taxation Office this morning reduced its claim against Radhika Oswal from $190 million in unpaid taxes to just $32 million.
This case is separately being fought at the Federal Court in Sydney.
The couple are fighting a billion dollar battle against the ANZ and the receivers at Supreme Court of Victoria.
Herald Sun reported that the Oswals were banned from leaving Australia following ATO’s $190 million claim.
It is not yet clear whether that order will now be lifted.
The Oswals had argued that the claim against them could only ever be for $32 million, but maintain they owe the ATO nothing.
Meanwhile, the couple’s fight against ANZ Bank is entering its second week, as opening submissions continue.
The ANZ bank and receivers who sold Pankaj and Radhika Oswal's Australian fertiliser business will respond to the Indian business couple's $2.5 billion compensation claim later this week.
The Victorian Supreme Court has heard the Oswals' 65 per cent stake in parent company Burrup Holdings was undervalued when sold for $US560 million in January 2012, following the appointment of receivers in December 2010.
