On Monday, SBS Hindi reported that a police operation was underway in Wyndham Vale to nab two alleged burglars in Melbourne’s West.
As a precaution, childcare centres and a few streets were locked down.
Police was hunting for a man and a woman who had fled the scene of a burglary earlier that morning.
The man was arrested by local police, with assistance from the Special Operations Group, Critical Incident Response Team, Air Wing and Dog Squad, following an alleged aggravated burglary in Wyndham Vale on Monday morning.
The Police stated that the burglar was a resident of nearby area, Truganina. The 28-year-old was caught committing a crime while he was out on bail. And he also had an unregistered handgun and commercial quantities of cannabis on him when he was captured by police.
On Tuesday, he was charged following a series of incidents in Wyndham Vale.
The 28-year-old Truganina man has been charged with the following:
• Aggravated burglary with firearm
• Use firearm to resist arrest
• Prohibited Person use a firearm
• Assault police (indictable)
• Possess unregistered handgun
• Possess commercial quantity of cannabis
• Trespass – private place
• Commit indictable offence whilst on bail
He faced Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on Teusday and was remanded in custody to appear again at a later date.
