27-year-old Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav who fought a battle at home before leaving for Rio has received another jolt.

This time from the Court for Arbitration for Sport (CAS) who has upheld the World Anti Doping Agency’s (WADA) appeal against the clean chit given to the sportstar by India’s National Anti Doping Agency (NADA).

Following this decision, Narsingh Yadav’s Olympic dream has come to an end. He has been handed over a ban for four years just a day before he was to compete in men’s freestyle 74kg.

The statement reads: “The CAS panel did not accept the argument of the athlete that he was the victim of sabotage and noted that there was no evidence that he bore no fault, nor that the anti-doping rule violation was not intentional. Therefore the standard four-year period of ineligibility was imposed by the panel.”

Narsingh Yadav had tested positive for two anti-doping tests before he was sent to Rio. First on June 25th and second time on 5th July.

The athlete claimed he was a victim of sabotage as a competitor had tampered with his drink.

His family in Uttar Pradesh, India are devastated after hearing the news of ban. Speaking to ANI, Yadav's monther said, "My son is a victim of conspiracy.'
