A report published by The West Australian states that Indian billionaire couple, Pankaj and Radhika Oswal’s dream house Taj on Swan will be demolished soon.

The property left halfway during construction has been become a nuisance for the neighbours as it has become a party site for young people in Perth.

Several young people have been booked for trespassing while partying at this abandoned site and on Friday night, yet another noisy party at the site has left the local council concerned.

The couple’s Taj on Swan was designed to be an Indian-style palace with 7 domes, 6 bedrooms, a temple, a gym, an observatory with a revolving roof, a swimming pool, and parking for 17 cars.

Expected to Australia’s biggest home upon completion, this house was pegged to be built at the cost of $70 million that overlooks the Swan River in Perth’s suburb of Peppermint Grove.

Now lying in tatters, the council is not willing to wait till the couple’s legal dispute with the ANZ is settled.

Peppermint Grove shire chief executive John Merrick told the WA that the council was so concerned about regular illegal parties that it would not wait for the outcome of unrelated legal action by the Oswals.

Mr Merrick said the council had given the couple long enough to sort out the matter and would not wait for them to find out if they would win compensation.
He also said the neighbours were fed up with the noise.
Mr Merrick said residents considered the $150,000 to $300,000 demolition bill to be money well spent. The council plans to recover that cost from the Oswals. “They’ve had five years. How much longer do they want,” he said.

But Radhika Oswal, who had earlier agreed to a demolition order in October 2015, has expressed her wish to complete the structure if she is given the chance to settle her rates bill of $108,000.

The couple is seeking $2.5billion in compensation from ANZ and receivers which could take months before a decision is made.

However the council is not willing to wait till the couple finds out if they would win the case.
