Police was called in at Village Cinemas in Southland, Melbourne after a scuffle broke out during the screening of Bollywood blockbuster, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

The Leader reports a 31-year-old man was attacked when he walked out of the theatre to complain to the management about two men who were being loud inside the theatre.

A fight broke out and witnesses and staff had to intervene to break the scuffle.

Kingston crime investigation unit detective Senior Sergeant Shane Cashman told The Leader, “Police were called but the two suspects had left. This is significantly worrying behaviour. People go to the cinema to have a relaxing time with friends and don’t expect to be confronted with violence.”

Police said the suspects later returned to the cinema and told police they were the victims.

Police will be reviewing CCTV footage and has urged witnesses to come forward with information about the incident.
