Police operation underway in Melbourne CBD; one dead and several injured

A helicopter is hovering above Melbourne CBD and there are unconfirmed reports that gun shots have been heard.
Multiple pedestrians have been hit by a rogue car and police operation is underway as paramedics tend to those injured.

Police were chasing a rogue car which has driven erratically and hit pedestrians.

Paramedics are still unsure how many pedestrians had been hit.
While the police operation is underway, buildings at 600 and 570 Bourke Streets are in a lockdown.

“I heard a thump and thought they’d hit something. Now I know it was people,” he said.

Victoria Police has confirmed that one person has been arrested from the scene.
