Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi chaired the first meeting of the Integrated Nodal Agency (INA) on Wednesday, Indian news agency ANI reported.

INA is the inter-ministerial body to probe all issues faced by women in NRI (Non-Resident Indian) marriages.

With the rising number of complaints into NRI marriages, Indian Law Ministry will make registration of NRI marriages compulsory. All the required process to do amendments will be done soon.

Ministry of Law and Justice adviced INA on the legal aspects, and as per that advice, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is going to launch a website where the summons against absconding husbands will be posted.
As per the National Commission for Women (NCW), INA formally accessed the request to cancel the passport in 10 cases, according to a report.
