Indian news channel India Today released a video on their Twitter account which shows a little girl taking the pheras with an older boy.

According to the news report, a six-year-old girl was married off to a minor boy in presence of their families in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh.
This wedding was part of a mass wedding event on the occasion of Ram Navmi.
The child, dressed in her bridal attire, is heard crying, struggling with her saree, even as the pandit prods her on to complete her pheras.
Child marriage is illegal in India under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act of 2006 and yet, India is home to a third of the world’s child brides, according to UNICEF.
