Anjali Ramkissoon grabbed headlines in US when a video showing her in fighting with an Uber driver in an inebriated state went viral early this year.
This video till date has garnered over 7 million views online on YouTube.
This video has now cost this Indian-origin doctor, her job. She was fired from her job at the Jackson Health System in US after the showed her attacking a hapless Uber driver in Miami.
Till now, Dr. Ramkissoon had been on administrative leave but last week The Miami Herald quoted a statement from the hospital which read: “Jackson Health System is moving forward with the termination of Dr Anjali Ramkissoon, a resident doctor.She is entitled to an appeal process."
Ramkissoon was a four-year neurology resident at the hospital. Following the incident, Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon had apologised for her behaviour.
Ramkissoon, in an interview with Good Morning America, had said: 'There's absolutely no excuse for my actions. I'm ashamed. I'm so sorry. I've hurt so many people.'
The driver has so far opted to remain anonymous and has declined to press charges.
