On Thursday evening (EDT), where the Democratic National Convention is underway in Philadelphia, 65-year-old American Muslim Khizr Khan strongly condemned Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s politics.
Father of a fallen Muslim soldier who fought the Iraq war as part of US Armed forces, Khan delivered a scathing speech that received standing ovation and applause from the audience.
In his speech, Khan, with his wife standing beside him, said, “Donald Trump continuously smears the character of Muslims. He disrespects other minorities, women, judges and even his own party leadership.”
“He vows to build walls and ban us from this country. Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with their future. Let me ask you, have you even read the United States constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy.”
The crowd applauded Khan’s speech.
