In a recent interview with an Indian radio channel, Radio Mirchi, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh spilled some interesting details about his fellow cricketers with whom he has played and shared dressing room for years.
On Virat Kohli – “Kohli is the biggest miser”
Yuvraj Singh in this interview told RJ Suren that star of the moment and captain of the test team, Virat Kohli is the biggest miser.
He said, "It's like this is yours and this is mine, you will pay for this one and I will pay for that one. You know, in our Punjabi culture, we don't have that, if we are going out for eating something, then one person pays but some people are different and currently, Virat Kohli is the biggest miser. He is also the angry young man in the team," Yuvraj told Radio Mirchi.
On Javagal Srinath – “He treated us with dal chawal”

Yuvraj Singh also recalled an instance where the Indian bowling legend Javagal Srinath once treated a group with dal chawal.
Yuvraj recalled, "Among the senior players Javagal Srinath was very generous. After playing so much of cricket with him, he finally gave us a dal chawal treat and we uploaded that picture on Twitter with a caption 'thank you Srinath Ji, for the treat after 15 years," which was obviously a friendly dig taken by Yuvi at Srinath.
On Ashish Nehra – He once said, "Please understand, I have a family to take care of”
Yuvraj spoke about how fast-bowler Ashish Nehra was once questioned why wasn’t he paying?
“Usually Ashish (Nehra) is very generous but he gets miserable at times. When he got married, he used to say, please try to understand, I have to manage my wife and kids, I cannot spend much,” Yuvi said, adding, “It's not like they are misers in that sense but it's just a fun banter between us like why aren't you paying."
On Sachin Tendulkar – “We once called him grandpa”

Yuvraj spoke about an interesting episode when Tendulkar had just completed 22 years in international cricket.
"Once we jokingly called Sachin Tendulkar grandpa, as he had just completed 22 years in international cricket. Since then Sachin has been playing a lot of pranks on us as revenge. He is very naughty so he always kept us on the backfoot after that incident."
On Saurav Ganguly – “I think he is the best captain I’ve played under”
When the presenter questioned Yuvraj, who was his favourite captain, Yuvi without batting an eyelid spoke about Saurav Ganguly. "I started my career under Sourav Ganguly, he was the guy who put this team together and supported players like myself, Ashish, Sehwag, Zaheer, Harbhajan and he got this group together. So I think he is the best captain I've played under," he said.
