One generally experiences mixed emotions on their Friday morning rides. The drag of ‘still’ having to work one more day and the joyful ‘anticipation’ of the impending weekend.

Add some rainy, cold weather to this morning ride and it becomes a perfect topic to crib. But then every cloud has a silver lining, they say.

And that’s what happened when Nrupesh Thakor, resident of Melbourne, bumped into the Australian Prime Minister – Malcolm Turnbull, on his Friday morning ride to work.

“It was so unexpected and took me by surprise,” he says recalling the experience.

"He was waiting at the tram stop and later took the same tram. I went upto him and said, "Hello, I know you." He smiled back and we had a small chat. I had some very important meetings lined up and I told him that my day has begun on a good note. Naturally, I was thrilled. And I am glad, in my excitement, I got to take a picture with him,” he said.

Many other commuters too posted their encounter with the Prime Minister on Social Media. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was first spotted waiting for the tram and later boarding Tram No. 11 to go to the Parliament in Melbourne.
