A latest report by Bloomberg has revealed world’s best and worst performing airlines od 2016.
Based on the data collected every year by an aviation insights company, FlightStats, Bloomberg has put together a list of top 10 best performing international airlines and also the worst performing international airlines.
The list was compiled after analysing data on different parameters.
Vice president of aviation and distribution at FlightStats, Jim Hetzel told Bloomberg, “We stitch data together from 500 different sources.”
Among those sources are flight-tracking and positional services, airport runway times, radar services, airline records and airport data.
“We’ve built the technology and logic to sort that out and validate information across multiple sources. It’s a pretty interesting process,” he said.
While KLM, flag carrier airline of the Netherlands made it to the top of the list of best airlines, Israel’s EL AI made it to the top of the list of worst international airline.
India’s national carrier, Air India came in on Number 3 spot on the worst international airline in the world while Australia’s Qantas figured at Number 10 spot on the list of best international airline in the world.
Air India disagreed with the above assessment, spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar said in a statement.

7. Hong Kong Airlines – 33.42 percent
6. China Eastern Airlines – 35.8 percent

4. Philippine Airlines – 38.33 percent
3. Air India – 38.71 percent
2. Iceland Air – 41.05 percent
1. El Al – 56 percent
