A new, potentially life-saving campaign featuring Australian women of Indian and Vietnamese backgrounds has been launched in Victoria. Its part of a wider campaign in seven languages targeting women at risk of cervical cancer, with the message that regular pap-smear tests save lives.Jitarth Jai Bharadwaj talks to Ms Shivani Goyal who is one of the participants of the campaign.

All women between 18 and 70 years old who have been sexually active need to have a Pap test every two years. Pap tests check for changes to cells on the cervix, that if left undetected and untreated may lead to cervical cancer.

The Cancer Council and PapScreen Victoria also want women to know early stages of cervical cancer usually have no symptoms and can only be detected as a result of a Pap test.
