Coronavirus cases confirmed to date

Health authorities and experts say that there could be more cases of coronavirus after the World Health Organisation has declared the Novel Coronavirus (2019nCOV) an International Health Emergency, while it also says that it is not a time for speculation but a time for the world to collaborate and coordinate so that action can be taken to prevent, to find new therapy, and to make vaccine so the world can deal with this virus pandemic situation.

There are over 20,500 coronavirus cases confirmed with more than 427 dead in China as of 05 February 2020, close to 242 case coronavirus are being confirmed by 22 countries worldwide.

Countries across the world have warned their citizens not to travel to China, while Vietnam and Japan and Singapore will not issue some visas to some Chinese to enter their countries and most drastically, Singapore will not allow any Chinese to transit or will not issue visas for any Chinese to fly to Singapore. Myanmar has barred a Chines flight from Guangzhou and orders it to return to China after one of the passengers has flu symptoms.

The US government has warned its citizens not to travel to China while the British government evacuated 83 of its citizens to the United Kingdom. However, Qantas will not stop its flight to China yet.

Many countries like the US, Russia, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan have already taken back their citizen but they will be quarantined for at least 2 weeks before release. While Australia and New Zealand are still in a process to take their citizen back.

Apart from this, there is a spike in the number of incidents of racism towards Chinese outside China and Australian Chinese are not alone. 

As for Australia, there are 13 confirmed cases as of 01 February 2020 and they are 3 in Queensland, 4 in Victoria, and 4 in New South Wales and 2 in South Australia. However, the New South Wales Health authorities have discharged 3 of its patients from the hospital after they are treated and two more Australians contracted this virus while cruising in Japan. Now the Australia government has repatriated 241 Australians to Christmas Island for 2 weeks quarantine.

2. Thailand 25, 8 treated and discharged 17 remains in hospital.

5. Australia 13: Queensland 3, NSW 4, VIC 4, SA 2. Three were treated and released from hospital however 2 Australian contracted this virus while cruising in Japan.

6. Hong Kong 12, first death case.

7. South Korea 12

8. The United States of America 11

9. Macau 7

10. France 6

11. Vietnam 8

12. Germany 8

13. United Arab Emirates 5

14. Canada 4

15. Italy 2

16. The United Kingdom (Britain) 2

17. Russia 2

18. Finland 1

19. Spain 1

20. India 1

21. Nepal 1

22. Sri Lanka 1

23. Cambodia 1

24. Phillippines 1, 1st death case confirmed.

25. Sweden 1

26. Belgium 1





India has confirmed its first coronavirus case and 800 people are under observation.

For African continent, there are 4 people who have been quarantined in Ethiopia according to its Ministry of Health and National Health Commission. Their blood sample has been sent to South Africa for further screening to confirm if these people contract the Novel Coronavirus (2019nCOV).  3 more cases from Cote D'lvoire, Kenya and Mauritius are under investigation to figure out if the three Chinese nationals catch this coronavirus.

For Latin America and South America, SBS Spanish says that there is one person who was quarantined and health authorities are still waiting for the test result.
