Poison Fire Coral (Podostroma cornu-damae) is the most deadly fungus that once thought to be originated only in Japan and Korea was found in Cairns Rainforest (Redlynch) for the first time by Australian scientists, and it could be spread in Australian tropical regions.

This fungus is so poisonous that if anyone who touches without realizing, the poison will be immediately absorbed through their skin, or if ingested, it will cause stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and damaging internal organs or impairing nerves in the brain and the brain would stop functioning and eventually it could lead to death according to Dr. Matt Barrett, a mycologist from James Cook University who told Nine News.

Therefore, it is recommended not to be touched or eaten.
