The Department of Home Affairs says that the Australian government has increased the Australian citizenship processing number up to 177% from the 1st of June 2019 to the 30th of September 2019. That is more than 93,000 new migrants to be Australian new citizens this year compared to just around 34,000 for 2018/19. So the number of people approved Australian citizenship has increased by 80% and there is around 60% of migrants granted Australian citizenship in 2018, due to the Australian $9 million supporting the citizenship processing.

Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services, and Multicultural Affairs David Coleman said he expects numbers to continue to improve.
Citizenship is fundamental to who we are as a nation and represents a commitment to supporting our values and beliefs, says Mr. Coleman.
However, despite the increase of Australian citizenship processing and citizenship granted, there are still over 200,000 cases waiting for their applications to be processed.
