Here is Nia Thao Lor experienced when religious became an issue and how he end up in Thai Immigration Center in Bangkok and who helped his family out so he and his family can start their new lives in France:
"As a Hmong person, I felt that I have a responsibility to help my Hmong people who are in needed. Hmong should learn to be a modern citizen and come back to help those less fortunate than us, do not let them starve or thirst. As a Hmong resides in Western world, we should be a civilized citizen. We may have a nice house, we might not worry about putting foods on our tables, some may eat until they vomit or some may drink until they throw up, but if we as a person can't even spare a little of our fortune for those less fortunate than us, then should we still call ourselves Hmong?," says Mee Lee.
